Rene Schroeder, Executive Director, EUROBAT
EUROBAT will present its “Battery Innovation Roadmap 2030”, demonstrating the strong innovation potential of all battery technologies in the coming years to cater for the specific requirements of a multitude of applications - automotive, motive power, telecom and stationary. All battery technologies – lead, lithium, nickel and sodium based - with their specific features and significant development potential, are required to play their role. As an essential technology contributing to decarbonisation across a number of sectors, including transport, energy, logistics, manufacturing and telecommunications, batteries will be crucial in supporting the European Green Deal and achieving Europe’s 2050 climate-neutrality goals. The Roadmap is particularly relevant given the current European Union policy discussions on the sustainability of batteries, their innovation potential as well as their relevance for job creation and growth.
